Job Summary
The Kiln Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring the wood drying kiln used in pallet manufacturing. The role includes maintaining proper temperature and moisture levels, ensuring safe kiln operations, achieving required wood drying standards, and maintaining production records.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor kiln drying equipment as per production schedule.
- Load and unload wooden pallets or timber into the kiln safely.
- Maintain required temperature, humidity, and airflow settings during kiln operation.
- Check moisture content of wood using moisture meter.
- Ensure heat treatment process complies with customer and quality requirements.
- Monitor fuel, steam, burners, fans, and other kiln systems.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions or abnormal conditions.
- Maintain kiln operation logbooks and production records.
- Coordinate with production and maintenance teams for smooth operations.
- Follow safety procedures, PPE requirements, and housekeeping standards.
- Ensure proper stacking arrangement for effective drying and heat treatment.
- Minimize wood damage, shrinkage, and quality defects during drying process.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of kiln drying process and heat treatment operations.
- Ability to monitor temperature and moisture parameters.
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Good troubleshooting and observation skills.
- Ability to work in shifts.
- Knowledge of safety practices in manufacturing environment.
Qualification
- ITI / Diploma / 12th Pass.
- Experience in pallet plant,
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
