Khabar Mirror is a fast-growing Hindi digital news platform focused on delivering high-quality news across India. We are looking for an experienced WordPress Developer who can improve our website's performance, fix technical issues, and help build a fast, SEO-friendly, scalable news platform.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve our WordPress news website.
- Fix bugs, errors, and technical issues.
- Improve Core Web Vitals, page speed, and overall website performance.
- Customize themes and plugins without affecting website stability.
- Build new features based on business requirements.
- Optimize mobile responsiveness.
- Ensure website security and regular backups.
- Handle server-related issues (preferred).
- Work with SEO requirements such as schema, redirects, sitemap, indexing support, and structured data.
- Optimize database and website performance.
- Integrate third-party APIs and services when required.
- Test changes before deploying them to the live website.
Requirements
- 6 months of WordPress development experience.
- Strong knowledge of PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WordPress.
- Experience with custom themes and plugins.
- Experience with website speed optimization.
- Understanding of SEO best practices.
- Knowledge of caching, CDN, image optimization, and security.
- Experience with Linux hosting, DigitalOcean, Cloudflare, and Git is a plus.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues independently.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working on high-traffic news or media websites.
- Knowledge of Google News, Google Discover, and Publisher Center.
- Familiarity with GeneratePress, GenerateBlocks, Rank Math, and news publishing workflows.
