Job Description: Shift Incharge – Dark Store
Position: Shift Incharge
Department: Warehouse & Dark Store Operations
Location: [City -HYD-BANGALORE-CHENNAI]
Reporting To: Store Manager / Operations Executive
Role Objective:
The Shift IN charge is responsible for ensuring smooth operations of the dark store during
the assigned shift, managing the pickers/packers, monitoring inventory accuracy, achieving
order TAT, coordinating with riders, and maintaining process compliance to deliver high-
quality order fulfilment.
�� Key Responsibilities
1. Shift Operations Management
Ensure timely opening and closing of the dark store during the assigned shift.
Allocate tasks to pickers, packers, and support staff based on expected order
volume.
Monitor order flow, picking speed, packing quality, and dispatch timelines.
Ensure achievement of shift-wise TAT, productivity, and accuracy KPIs.
Handle real-time escalations from city operations, customers, or brand teams.
2. Order Picking, Packing & Dispatch
Supervise picking and packing operations as per SOP.
Ensure barcode scanning of all items and prevent mispacks or missing items.
Verify packaging quality, sealing, labelling, and shipment readiness.
Ensure smooth handover to riders with proper timestamps.
Monitor rider availability, batch creation, and queue management.
3. Inventory Management & Store Control
Perform cycle counts, bin audits, and SKU-wise verification.
Track inward, outward, RTV, RTO, and damage inventory daily.
Ensure 100% inventory accuracy and report variances immediately.
Coordinate with the central warehouse for replenishments and shortages.
Maintain storage hygiene, FIFO/FEFO, and damage segregation.
4. People & Team Management
Manage pickers, packers, loaders, riders, and support staff during the shift.
Monitor picker/packer productivity and maintain hourly dashboards.
Manage attendance, discipline, and performance issues on shift.
Train new joiners on SOPs, safety, and process compliance.
Ensure smooth handover between shifts with proper documentation.
5. Escalation & Communication
Communicate with Area Managers, Brand POCs, and City Ops teams.
Raise alerts for system issues, inventory discrepancies, and operational blockages.
Ensure timely escalation for:
o Stock shortages
o High-delay orders
o Rider unavailability
o Customer complaints
o App/system downtime
6. Compliance & Safety
Ensure adherence to:
o H&S guidelines
o Food safety / hygiene SOPs
o Security protocols
o Quality checks for orders
Monitor CCTV, store cleanliness, fire extinguishers, and equipment health.
7. Reporting & Documentation
Update shift reports on:
o Pick/Pack productivity
o Hourly order status
o Inventory updates
o Damages, near-expiry & bad inventory
o Rider attendance
o Dispatch & delivery TAT
Maintain manual logs, Google Sheets, and daily HOTO (handover takeover) reports.
�� Required Skills
Strong understanding of warehouse & dark store operations.
Ability to handle high-pressure and fast-paced environments.
Team management skills (10–50 members).
Basic Excel / Google Sheets reporting.
Knowledge of WMS, scanning devices, and inventory processes.
Strong communication, problem-solving & escalation handling.
�� Qualification & Experience
Graduate or Diploma preferred.
1–3 years of experience in:
o Dark store operations
o eCommerce fulfilment
o Warehouse/inventory management
o Quick-commerce companies (Zepto, Blinkit, Instamart, Dunzo)
�� Shift Details
Rotational shifts (Morning / Evening / Night).
Weekly off based on roster.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
