The Retail Furnishing Sales Associate is responsible for guiding customers through their home design, FURNISHINGS and furniture shopping journey. This role combines interior style advisory, active product demonstration, and point-of-sale management to meet monthly store revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Consultation
- Greet showroom visitors warmly to assess their spatial needs, style preferences, and budget constraints.
- Provide expert advice on color palettes, fabric textures, material durability, and furniture layout optimization.
- Escort buyers through design galleries while explaining specific product features, custom options, and brand warranties.
- Sales & Revenue Generation
- Achieve or exceed individual and team-based monthly sales quotas.
- Cross-sell complementary décor elements like rugs, lighting, and throw pillows to increase average order value.
- Pitch active store promotions, protection plans, financing programs, and loyalty memberships.
- Follow up with previous prospects via phone or email to close pending layout consultations.
- Showroom Operations
- Maintain visual merchandising standards by straightening furniture setups and refreshing accent displays.
- Ensure all floor samples are clean, damage-free, and accurately tagged with pricing information.
- Coordinate directly with warehouse and logistics personnel to verify stock availability and schedule home delivery dates.
- Transaction Processing
- Execute cash, credit, and financed sales invoices accurately through the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Manage product returns, exchanges, and customer service complaints with a professional demeanor.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent General Education Development (GED) credential.
- Experience in retail sales, interior design sales, or hospitality environments is highly preferred.
- Hard & Soft Skills
- Strong communication skills to articulate design concepts clearly to diverse clients.
- Basic computer proficiency to operate POS hardware, inventory software, and client logs.
- Solid basic math skills for calculating customized package discounts and financing terms.
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk around a large showroom floor for up to 8 hours per day.
- Capacity to lift, push, or reposition light furniture accessories weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Flexibility to work a retail schedule including evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
