Primary Purpose of Position:
To lead the Learning & Development function in India, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality learning initiatives that build organisational capability and support business performance.
As the senior Learning & Development representative in India, this role provides leadership to the local Learning & Development team, partners with business leaders to identify capability needs, and delivers exceptional learning experiences that enhance leadership capability, professional development, and organisational performance.
Working closely with the Asia Pacific Learning & Development Manager, and regional stakeholders, the Learning & Development Lead is responsible for implementing global and APAC learning initiatives within India ensuring they are effectively embedded, locally relevant, and aligned with business priorities. This role maintains high standards of facilitation, fosters a strong learning culture, and delivers customer-focused learning solutions that build organisational capability.
Functional Leadership
Lead the Learning & Development function across India, ensuring learning initiatives align with business priorities and the APAC Learning & Development strategy.
- Develop and implement local learning priorities that build organisational capability and support business performance.
- Oversee the delivery of the India learning portfolio, ensuring learning initiatives are delivered to a consistently high standard.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance learning programs, learner experience, and operational effectiveness.
- Act as the primary Learning & Development contact for India, representing the function with professionalism, credibility, and a customer-focused approach.
- Lead the implementation and localisation of global and APAC learning initiatives ensuring they meet the needs of the India business while maintaining alignment with enterprise learning standards.
- People Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop the India Learning & Development team to deliver high-quality learning services.
- Set priorities, allocate work, and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and development opportunities.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture built on accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Support team capability development to ensure consistent standards of facilitation, customer service, and operational excellence.
- Learning Facilitation & Delivery
- Act as lead facilitator for leadership, team effectiveness, and organisational development programs across India.
- Deliver engaging virtual and face-to-face learning experiences that create meaningful behavioural change and an exceptional learner experience.
- Maintain a visible presence across the business as a trusted learning professional and role model for facilitation excellence.
- Adapt facilitation approaches to meet the needs of diverse audiences and varying levels of leadership experience.
- Coach and support other facilitators to continuously improve facilitation capability and learner engagement.
- Degree qualification in Human Resources, Learning & Development, Education, Organisational Development, or a related discipline.- Extensive experience in Learning & Development within a corporate environment.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating leadership, professional, and organisational development programs.
- Proven ability to build credibility through exceptional facilitation and the delivery of engaging, high-quality learning experiences.
- Experience leading, coaching, and developing a high-performing team.
- Demonstrated experience partnering with business leaders to identify capability needs and implement learning solutions.
- Experience managing multiple learning initiatives and balancing strategic priorities with operational delivery.
