Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and passionate Indian Chef to prepare authentic, high-quality Indian dishes while maintaining food safety, hygiene, and consistency. The ideal candidate should have experience in a café or restaurant kitchen, be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and contribute to menu innovation and smooth kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes according to standard recipes.
- Ensure consistency in food quality, taste, and presentation.
- Manage daily food preparation and mise en place.
- Monitor food quality and maintain portion control to minimize wastage.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen in compliance with food safety standards.
- Check the freshness and quality of ingredients before use.
- Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure timely food preparation and service.
- Monitor inventory levels and inform the Kitchen Manager about stock requirements.
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of food items.
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
- Assist in developing new menu items and seasonal specials when required.
- Handle kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance issues.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience as an Indian Chef in a café, restaurant, or hotel.
- Strong knowledge of Indian cuisine, spices, gravies, tandoor (if applicable), and food preparation techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
