Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Automation Engineer to design, develop, and deploy custom automation solutions for manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Special Purpose Machine (SPM) design, machine building, and end-to-end production line automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Special Purpose Machines (SPMs) and custom mechanical assemblies.
- Develop concepts for automated workstations, jigs, fixtures, and material handling systems.
- Plan and execute machine-building activities, including BOM preparation, vendor coordination, assembly, debugging, and commissioning.
- Design and implement line automation solutions such as conveyors, pick-and-place systems, robotic integration, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
- Collaborate with Electrical, Controls, and PLC teams to ensure seamless mechatronic integration.
- Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and support machine installation and commissioning at customer sites.
- Prepare technical documentation, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, and machine manuals.
- Ensure projects are completed within schedule, quality, and customer requirements.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Mechanical Design, GD&T, and Machine Elements.
- Hands-on experience with bearings, drives, actuators, linear motion systems, and transmission mechanisms.
- Proven experience in SPM Design and Turnkey Machine Building Projects.
- Good understanding of Pneumatics, Hydraulics, and Servo/Stepper Motion Systems.
- Familiarity with Line Automation Concepts, Cycle Time Analysis, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Experience in machine assembly, testing, trials, debugging, and commissioning.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Industrial Automation, Assembly Automation, Material Handling Systems, or Robotics Integration.- Ability to work independently and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to travel for customer site installations and commissioning activities.
