Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Customs Clearance professional holding a valid CHA License (F Category) to join our growing team. The role will be responsible for managing and overseeing customs clearance activities for import and export shipments, ensuring compliance with Customs regulations, DGFT guidelines, and other statutory requirements. The candidate will act as the company's authorized CHA representative, liaising with Customs authorities, airlines, shipping lines, port authorities, and customers to facilitate smooth and timely cargo clearance operations.
The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of customs procedures, documentation, regulatory compliance, and operational processes related to Air and Sea Freight shipments. Experience in handling Pharmaceutical, DG, Temperature-Controlled, and General Cargo will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent the company as an authorized F Category CHA license holder for customs-related activities.
- Handle end-to-end customs clearance for Import and Export shipments via Air and Sea.
- Ensure compliance with Customs Act, DGFT regulations, and other government requirements.
- Coordinate with Customs officials, Port Authorities, Airlines, Shipping Lines, and regulatory agencies for smooth shipment clearance.
- Verify and review shipping documents including Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, Air Waybill, COO, and other customs documents.
- Ensure timely filing of Bills of Entry, Shipping Bills, and other customs declarations.
- Monitor shipment status and resolve customs-related issues to avoid delays, penalties, or demurrage.
- Provide customs advisory and compliance support to operations, sales, and customer service teams.
- Maintain accurate customs records and documentation as per regulatory requirements.
- Support internal audits, compliance reviews, and customs inspections.
- Keep updated on changes in customs laws, trade regulations, and industry practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Valid CHA License (F Category) is mandatory.
- Graduate in any discipline.
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in Customs Clearance and Freight Forwarding Industry.
- Strong knowledge of Indian Customs procedures, ICEGATE, E-Sanchit, DGFT, and EXIM regulations.
- Experience in handling Air Freight and Sea Freight Import & Export shipments.
- Good communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple customs clearance activities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in handling Pharmaceutical, Temperature-Controlled, DG, and Special Cargo shipments.
- Strong network and working relationship with Customs authorities and trade partners.
- Excellent problem-solving and coordination abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office and customs-related software platforms.
