Role description
An Automation Tester is responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts to ensure software quality. The role focuses on improving testing efficiency, reducing manual efforts, and enabling faster releases.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using frameworks and tools
- Execute automated test cases and analyze results
- Identify, document, and track bugs using defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps)
- Collaborate with development and QA teams to understand requirements and create test strategies
- Perform regression, functional, integration, and performance testing
- Enhance and maintain test automation frameworks
- Validate APIs using tools like Postman, REST Assured, or similar
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and Agile ceremonies
- Ensure test coverage and maintain test documentation
- Continuously improve QA processes and automation practices
