We are hiring a Mechanical Engineering Manager with a strong background in Electromechanical Product Design to join the Schneider Electric Prosumer NAM Hub Team working out of our Bangalore, India R&D office.
What will you do?

Lead and manage a local team of mechanical engineers to successfully execute on product design projects from concept to mass production within a collaborative global R&D team while ensuring strong technical development and career growth
- Recruit, build, and elevate a high performing team prioritizing the individual through direct 1-on-1 conversations on performance, mentorship, training, and talent development followed by impactful action

Oversee technical specification, design, development, testing and issue resolution; provide technical expertise and guidance to team members and stakeholders to steer mechanical design towards innovative hardware solutions

Collaborate and strategize with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions

Review and communicate vision through mechanical designs and drawings in PTC Creo/PDM/Ansys
-
Engage in pragmatic decision making to drive convergence of design and set clear expectations with team in consideration of time-to-market

Own project plan via schedule estimation, coordinating team workload through resource allocation and task prioritization, assignment, and delegation

Drive continuous improvement initiatives in conjunction with other disciplines to optimize processes and best practices

What qualifications will make you successful?
- Undergraduate degree in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering and 15+ years of experience in product design execution

5+ years in a leadership or managerial role within the mechanical engineering discipline
-
Exceptional resource / time management and organization habits with a track record of on-time delivery of large complex developments

Proficient in NPD planning through WBS, Waterfall, and Agile methods

Established problem-solving skills enabling navigation of complex system challenges

Proven expertise designing outdoor electrical enclosures and hardware in top-down design CAD

Experience designing products with sheet metal, weldments, injection-molded plastics, die-casts, busbars, and harnessing for prototype and high-volume production

Knowledgeable in design principles for and analysis pertaining to structural, thermal, and material performance, as well as manufacturability

Strong design for excellence (DFX) mentality and sound engineering design methodologies: minimum constraint design, tolerance stack-up analysis, 8D RCA approach, and GD&T ASME Y14.5-2018 drawing expertise

Extensive knowledge designing in compliance with regulatory standards (UL/IEC/NEC)

Familiar with part qualification, BOM, ECO, DFMEA, FTA, RCA, FEA and DVT processes
