We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented PCB Design Engineer to join our Hardware Design/Power Electronics team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in multilayer PCB design (up to 4 layers), power electronics, and high-voltage systems. The role involves schematic design, PCB layout optimization, EMI/EMC-aware design practices, hardware validation, and support in UAV hardware integration activities.
- Design and develop schematics and PCB layouts using KiCad and Altium Designer.
- Work on power supply designs including DC-DC converters, AC-DC converters, battery-powered systems, BMS, and high-voltage circuits.
- Design multilayer PCBs (up to 4 layers) considering grounding, thermal performance, manufacturability, and signal integrity.
- Create and maintain custom PCB footprints and component libraries.
- Generate manufacturing deliverables including Gerber files, BOM, fabrication drawings, assembly files, and production documentation.
- Perform DFM (Design for Manufacturability) checks and coordinate with PCB fabrication and assembly vendors.
- Implement EMI/EMC design techniques including filtering, shielding, grounding strategies, and noise reduction methods.
- Perform impedance-controlled routing and follow best practices for high-speed and high-current PCB layouts.
- Support PCB bring-up, debugging, testing, and validation activities.
- Assist in UAV hardware integration, wiring, and system-level testing activities.
- Prepare hardware documentation, design reports, testing reports, and revision records.
- Coordinate with hardware, firmware, and mechanical teams during product development.
- Hands-on experience with KiCad and Altium Designer.
- Strong understanding of PCB design fundamentals and multilayer board stack-up.
- Experience in power electronics and power supply hardware design.
- Good knowledge of EMI/EMC concepts and mitigation techniques.
- Understanding of impedance matching, grounding strategies, and signal integrity.
- Knowledge of high-voltage safety practices, isolation techniques, and thermal management.
- Hands-on experience in SMD soldering and rework of packages like uDFN, QFN, etc.
- Familiarity with hardware debugging tools such as Oscilloscope, Multimeter, Logic Analyzer, and Power Analyzer.
- Good understanding of PCB manufacturing, assembly, and DFM processes.
- Experience in footprint creation and component library management.
- Good documentation and communication skills.
- Experience with industrial power systems, UAV electronics, EV electronics, or battery systems (preferred).
- Familiarity with IPC standards and PCB layout guidelines (preferred).
- Exposure to high-current and thermally demanding applications (preferred).
- Experience in PCB bring-up and prototype validation (preferred).
- Basic understanding of embedded hardware systems and interfaces (preferred).
Qualification : B.E / B.Tech / M.E / M.Tech in Electronics, ECE, EEE, Instrumentation, or related field.
