Job Summary
The Site Engineer is responsible for supervising and executing routine maintenance activities on NHAI highway projects. The role includes monitoring site work, coordinating manpower and machinery, ensuring quality and safety standards, maintaining records, and reporting project progress to management.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily routine maintenance activities on highways, including:
- Pothole repairs
- Shoulder maintenance
- Drain cleaning
- Road signage installation
- Crash barrier repairs
- Median maintenance
- Road marking works
- Vegetation and jungle clearance
- Ensure all maintenance works are executed as per:
- NHAI guidelines
- IRC standards
- Project specifications
- Safety norms
- Monitor deployment of:
- Labour manpower
- Equipment and machinery
- Materials required for maintenance work
- Conduct regular site inspections and identify defects or maintenance requirements on highway stretches.
- Coordinate with:
- Project Manager
- Safety Officer
- Client/NHAI representatives
- Subcontractors and vendors
- Maintain daily work progress reports, DPRs, measurement records, and site documentation.
- Ensure proper traffic management and safety arrangements during maintenance activities.
- Verify quality of materials and workmanship at site.
- Monitor fuel consumption, equipment utilization, and site productivity.
- Attend client meetings and support during inspections by NHAI officials.
- Ensure timely completion of maintenance activities within assigned targets.
- Report any emergency issues such as:
- Accidents
- Road damage
- Water logging
- Landslides or obstructions
- Support billing and measurement activities as per executed work.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of highway maintenance works and NHAI procedures
- Understanding of IRC and MORTH specifications
- Site supervision and manpower handling
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office
- Good communication and reporting skills
- Problem-solving and coordination abilities
Qualification
- Diploma/B.Tech in Civil Engineering
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in highway/NHAI projects preferred.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience in highway routine maintenance projects
- Ability to work in remote site locations
- Valid driving license preferred

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
