Job Title: MySQL DeveloperJob Summary
We are looking for a skilled MySQL Developer who will be responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining MySQL databases for web and software applications. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in database development, query optimization, stored procedures, data modelling, and database performance tuning.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain MySQL databases.
- Write efficient SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views.
- Optimize database performance and troubleshoot slow queries.
- Design database schemas, tables, indexes, relationships, and constraints.
- Work closely with backend developers to support application requirements.
- Perform database backup, restore, migration, and maintenance activities.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and availability.
- Analyze existing database structures and recommend improvements.
- Handle large datasets and optimize database performance for scalability.
- Create reports and extract data as per business requirements.
- Monitor database performance and resolve database-related issues.
- Maintain proper documentation of database structures and processes.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of MySQL database development.
- Good understanding of SQL queries, joins, indexing, normalization, and optimization.
- Experience with stored procedures, triggers, views, and functions.
- Knowledge of database design and data modelling.
- Experience in query performance tuning.
- Understanding of backup, restore, and database migration processes.
- Familiarity with backend technologies such as PHP, Node.js, Python, or Java will be an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of Linux server commands is a plus.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience as a MySQL Developer or Database Developer.
- Experience working with large-scale databases.
- Knowledge of cloud databases such as AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, or Azure Database is preferred.
- Experience with tools like MySQL Workbench, phpMyAdmin or similar database tools.
Good to Have
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
- Experience with database replication, partitioning, and performance monitoring.
- Understanding of APIs and backend application architecture.
- Experience in ERP, SaaS, CRM, LMS, or e-commerce applications.
