Summary
The Time, Attendance, Absence & Payroll Functional Analyst will support the design, configuration, and implementation of enterprise workforce management and payroll solutions. This role partners with business stakeholders, technical teams, and external vendors to deliver scalable, compliant, and operationally efficient solutions across multiple projects. The ideal candidate brings deep functional domain expertise, strong analytical skills, and experience delivering enhancements and implementations using a structured project methodology.
Key Responsibilities
Functional Expertise & Solution Design
- Serve as a subject matter expert for Time Tracking, Absence Management, Scheduling, and Payroll modules within an enterprise HR/Payroll ecosystem.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into system configuration, workflows, and functional designs.
- Lead or support configuration activities, including rules setup, accrual calculations, scheduling logic, time entry rules, validation rules, and payroll‑related parameters.
- Support reporting and analytics development related to labor,time , absence, workforce schedules, and payroll calculations.
Project Execution & Delivery
- Understand business requirements, timelines, and dependencies to deliver high‑quality solutions that meet project go‑live dates.
- Support the design and testing of integrations in various use-cases including 3rd-party solutions and external/outsourced payroll.
- Participate in or lead project phases including plan, design, build, testing (unit, integration, UAT), and deployment.
- Perform functional, technical, and architectural analysis to support project deliverables in alignment with Applied’s PMM (waterfall) standards.
- Prepare and maintain documentation: requirements, conceptual designs, configuration specs, test scripts, status updates, and end‑to‑end process flows.
Testing, Integrations & Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Conduct system demos, prototypes, and configuration walkthroughs with stakeholders.
- Support integration design review and validation, translating vendor specs and collaborating with developers.
- Own defect management, test planning, test execution, and UAT facilitation.
- Provide ongoing operational support and continuous improvement recommendations
Operational & Administrative Responsibilities
- Support time clock operations, configuration, and troubleshooting (including dormakaba Bcomm if applicable).
- Provide functional guidance to junior team members or consultants.
- Analyze data and support data conversion activities (mapping, validation, reconciliation).
Mandatory Qualifications
- 5+ years hands-on experience with Time Tracking and/or Absence Management in an analyst, configurator, or technical lead role.
Minimum two full lifecycle implementations of Time and/or Absence (design- go‑live).
- Strong understanding of Payroll concepts, time entry logic, accrual rules, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with Workday API/web services.
- Familiarity with all domain components: configuration, BP, security, integrations, reporting.
- Experience using PMM (waterfall) or similar structured project methodologies.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to translate business requirements into system solutions.
- Ability to work independently, manage timelines, and drive deliverables with minimal guidance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders across functional and technical teams.
Strongly Preferred Qualifications
- Experience configuring or supporting dormakaba Bcomm time clocks.
- Expertise in complex custom integrations between Workday and third‑party systems.
- Experience leading testing cycles, UAT, and defect resolution.
- Knowledge of regional time, absence, and payroll variations and compliance requirements.
- Experience integrating workday with local payroll systems.
- Experience providing mentorship or functional coaching to junior analysts.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience as a Time Administrator, Payroll Administrator, or related operational role.
- Prior involvement in Payroll implementations.
- PMM, Agile, or SCRUM certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, HRIS, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Strong customer‑service orientation and ability to build strong business relationships.
