SCM Coordinator – Solar Projects
Role Overview
The SCM Coordinator will manage procurement, vendor coordination, logistics, and inventory control for solar projects, including rooftop C&I and ground-mount installations. This role ensures timely availability of materials, cost efficiency, and smooth supply chain operations aligned with project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement & Vendor Management
- Source and negotiate with suppliers for solar modules, inverters, structures, cables, and BOS components.
- Maintain vendor database and evaluate supplier performance.
- Ensure procurement aligns with project budgets and technical specifications.
- Logistics & Inventory
- Coordinate transportation and delivery of materials to project sites.
- Track shipments, manage customs clearance (if applicable), and resolve logistics issues.
- Maintain inventory records and ensure optimal stock levels.
- Project Coordination
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to align supply chain activities with project schedules.
- Support timely installation by ensuring material availability.
- Escalate delays or shortages and propose corrective actions.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare purchase orders, contracts, and vendor agreements.
- Maintain records of procurement, delivery notes, and invoices.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in SCM, preferably in solar/renewable energy.
- Strong knowledge of solar project materials and vendor ecosystem.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and supply chain tools.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel to vendor locations and project sites.
