Job Summary
We are looking for a Solar O&M Engineer who is technically sound, proactive, and willing to work at solar project sites. The candidate will be responsible for supporting the operation and maintenance of rooftop solar PV systems, monitoring plant performance, identifying technical issues, and ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of solar plants.
Candidates with internship experience in Solar O&M, Solar EPC, Electrical Maintenance, or Solar PV projects are preferred.
Key Responsibilities
· Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of rooftop solar PV systems.
· Conduct regular inspection and health checks of solar plants and equipment.
· Monitor solar plant generation and identify abnormal performance or underperformance.
· Inspect and troubleshoot DCDB, ACDB, inverters, cables, earthing, protection systems, and other electrical components.
· Assist in breakdown maintenance and fault diagnosis.
· Identify basic electrical and solar system faults and support timely resolution.
· Perform routine checks of solar modules, mounting structures, cables, connectors, and associated equipment.
· Maintain proper records of plant performance, maintenance activities, breakdowns, and site observations.
· Coordinate with clients and site representatives during maintenance visits.
· Ensure compliance with safety procedures while carrying out electrical and rooftop maintenance activities.
· Prepare daily site reports and provide updates to the reporting manager.
· Support the O&M team in ensuring maximum plant uptime and optimal system performance.
· Travel to different project sites as required for inspection, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Eligibility Criteria
· Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
· Internship experience in Solar O&M, Solar EPC, Electrical Maintenance, or Solar PV projects is required/preferred.
· Candidates with 0–2 years of experience in Solar O&M or electrical maintenance may apply.
· Graduates with relevant solar/electrical internship experience and good technical knowledge are encouraged to apply.
· Basic understanding of solar PV systems and electrical installations.
Technical Skills Required
· Basic knowledge of Solar PV systems and rooftop solar plants.
· Understanding of AC and DC electrical systems.
· Basic knowledge of inverters, ACDB, DCDB, cables, earthing, and protection systems.
· Ability to use basic electrical testing tools and instruments.
· Basic troubleshooting and fault-diagnosis skills.
· Understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
· Basic knowledge of solar plant generation monitoring and performance checks.
· Ability to prepare basic maintenance and site reports.
Other Requirements
· Willingness to travel to project sites.
· Comfortable working at rooftop/project locations.
· Good communication and coordination skills.
· Basic knowledge of MS Excel and report preparation will be an advantage.
· Ability to work independently as well as with the O&M team.
· Responsible, disciplined, and safety-conscious approach toward site work.
· Proactive attitude and willingness to learn and develop technical skills in Solar O&M.
Preferred Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should have a Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering with practical exposure through a solar or electrical internship. Candidates who have visited or worked at solar project sites during their internship and have basic knowledge of solar PV systems, electrical components, testing instruments, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities will be preferred.
