Purpose of the Role
The Chartered Accountant will be responsible for financial management, statutory compliance, accounting, audits, taxation, and advisory services for the Trust and its educational institutions, ensuring full compliance with Income-tax Act, Trust laws, GST, and other applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Financial Management
Maintain and supervise books of accounts of the Trust and its Colleges/Schools in accordance with applicable Accounting Standards. Finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including Receipts & Payments, Income & Expenditure Account, and Balance Sheet. Monitor fund utilization, grants, donations, fees collection, and capital expenditure. Implement and oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. Ensure proper internal controls and financial discipline across institutions.
2. Statutory & Trust Compliance
Ensure compliance with Income-tax Act, 1961 including: Sections 11, 12, 12AB, 80G Filing of ITR-7 Audit under Section 12A / 12AB Manage compliance relating to Charitable / Educational Trust laws, Trust Deed provisions, and governing body resolutions. Coordinate with statutory auditors, internal auditors, and authorities during audits and inspections.
3. Taxation (Direct & Indirect)
Handle GST compliance, including: Applicability analysis for educational services GST returns, reconciliations, and assessments Oversee TDS compliance: Salary, contractor, professional fees, rent, etc. Filing of TDS returns and issuance of Form 16 / 16A Provide advisory on tax-efficient structuring while maintaining Trust compliance.
4. Regulatory & Institutional Reporting
Ensure compliance with applicable Education Department, University, AICTE, UGC, CBSE / ICSE / State Board financial requirements (where applicable). Prepare financial data for affiliation, accreditation, inspections, and grants. Assist management in responding to notices from Income-tax, GST, or other statutory authorities.
5. Payroll & HR Finance Support
Supervise payroll processing for teaching and non-teaching staff. Ensure compliance with PF, ESI, Professional Tax, Gratuity, and other labor-related financial compliances. Guide HR on structuring salary components in compliance with tax laws.
6. Advisory & Governance Support
Advise Trustees and Management on financial planning, risk management, and regulatory impact. Assist in drafting and reviewing financial policies, SOPs, and internal guidelines. Support Trust expansion activities such as new institutions, infrastructure projects, and funding arrangements.
Qualifications & Experience
Mandatory
Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) – Member of ICAI Minimum
5–8 years of post-qualification experience Prior experience with Educational Institutions / Trusts / Societies / NGOs preferred
Desirable Strong knowledge of Trust taxation and exemptions Experience in handling audits, assessments, and statutory scrutiny Exposure to multi-location or multi-institution accounting
Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of Indian tax laws and Trust compliance Proficiency in Tally / ERP systems / Excel High integrity, confidentiality, and ethical standards Analytical, detail-oriented, and solution-driven approach Ability to liaise with auditors, banks, and government authorities
Remuneration
Compensation will be commensurate with qualification and experience and aligned with Trust norms.
Pay: ₹80,000.00 - ₹120,000.00 per month
