Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and responsible Phlebotomist to join our team in Angamaly. The candidate will be responsible for accurate and hygienic blood/sample collection from patients and clients, proper labeling and documentation, and the safe and timely transportation of B2B diagnostic samples to the assigned laboratory.
The role requires good phlebotomy skills, patient-handling ability, attention to detail, and willingness to travel within the assigned service area. Proper sample handling and timely laboratory delivery are essential to maintain sample integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Sample Collection
- Perform blood collection through approved sample-collection procedures.
- Collect samples such as blood, urine, stool, sputum, and other specimens as required.
- Follow proper patient identification, sample collection, and infection-control procedures.
- Ensure patients are comfortable and provide professional assistance during collection.
- Perform home/client-site sample collection as per the assigned schedule.
Sample Labeling & Documentation
- Accurately label, barcode, and verify all specimens before dispatch.
- Ensure patient/client details, sample type, collection time, and required documentation are complete.
- Maintain accurate collection records and update the required system/app/register.
- Immediately report any sample discrepancy, collection issue, or rejected specimen.
B2B Sample Transportation
- Collect diagnostic samples from assigned B2B clients/collection points as per the daily route.
- Safely pack, handle, and transport samples to the assigned laboratory within the required turnaround time.
- Maintain appropriate temperature and transportation conditions as required for different specimen types.
- Ensure samples are protected from leakage, contamination, damage, or loss during transportation.
- Complete sample handover documentation and coordinate with the receiving laboratory.
- Follow the designated pickup and drop schedule and escalate delays or transportation issues promptly.
Operations & Compliance
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the collection area and equipment.
- Ensure adequate availability of phlebotomy and sample-collection consumables.
- Follow biomedical waste management, infection-control, and laboratory safety procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and client information.
- Coordinate effectively with B2B clients, laboratory teams, and internal operations teams.
- Plan daily routes efficiently to ensure timely collections and laboratory deliveries.
Eligibility / Qualifications
- B Sc MLT/ DMLT / MLT preferred.
- Candidates with relevant healthcare qualifications such as ANM/GNM may also be considered.
- Prior experience in phlebotomy, diagnostic laboratories, hospitals, or home sample collection is preferred.
- Freshers with appropriate phlebotomy training/certification may be considered.
Skills Required
- Strong sample-collection skills.
- Good knowledge of specimen handling, labeling, and transportation.
- Good communication and patient-handling skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently in a field-based role.
- Good knowledge of Angamaly and nearby areas is an advantage.
- Basic smartphone/app usage skills.
- Good time-management and coordination skills.
Additional Requirements
- A valid two-wheeler driving license is required for field travel.
- Candidates with their own two-wheeler preferred.
- Willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
- Ability to manage both phlebotomy and B2B sample pickup/delivery responsibilities.

Ideal Candidate: A reliable, patient-friendly phlebotomist who can independently handle sample collection in the field and ensure that B2B samples reach the assigned lab safely and on time.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
