Job Summary:
The Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial transactions of the saree showroom, including billing reconciliation, inventory accounting, GST compliance, vendor payments, and financial reporting. The role requires accuracy, integrity, and experience in retail accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Daily Accounting Operations:
- Maintain day-to-day accounting entries (sales, purchases, expenses)
- Handle cash, card, UPI, and bank transaction reconciliation
- Verify billing accuracy and POS reports
2. Sales & Billing Reconciliation:
- Reconcile daily sales with billing system
- Track discounts, returns, and exchange transactions
- Ensure proper recording of all revenue streams
3. Inventory Accounting:
- Maintain stock records and valuation
- Coordinate with store team for stock audits
- Track discrepancies, damages, and shrinkage
4. Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Process vendor invoices and payments
- Maintain supplier ledgers
- Track outstanding receivables (if applicable)
5. GST & Compliance:
- Prepare and file GST returns
- Ensure proper tax invoicing and compliance
- Maintain statutory records and documentation
6. Banking & Cash Management:
- Monitor daily cash flow
- Handle bank deposits and reconciliations
- Ensure safe cash handling practices
7. Financial Reporting:
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports
- Assist in profit & loss statements
- Provide data for audits and management review
Key Requirements:
Education:
- B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter (preferred)
Experience:
- 2–5 years of accounting experience
- Retail/showroom experience preferred
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles
- Experience with GST and taxation
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Tally, Busy, or similar)
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Good analytical and organizational skills
- Basic Excel proficiency
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
