Position Overview
The IGCSE & IB Economics Facilitator delivers high-quality economics instruction aligned with Cambridge IGCSE and International Baccalaureate (DP) frameworks. The role focuses on developing students’ analytical thinking, real-world economic understanding, and evaluation skills within a diverse, international learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging Economics lessons aligned with Cambridge IGCSE and IBDP curricula
Facilitate inquiry-based, discussion-driven learning using real-world economic issues and case studies
Support students in developing critical thinking, data analysis, and evaluation skills
Prepare students effectively for internal assessments and external examinations
Integrate technology, current affairs, and global perspectives into teaching
Design and implement formative and summative assessments aligned with curriculum standards
Provide timely, constructive feedback to support student progress
Maintain accurate academic records and contribute to student reports
Use assessment data to inform instructional planning and interventions
Act as a mentor, guiding students’ academic and personal development
Encourage ethical thinking, global awareness, and responsible citizenship
Communicate regularly and professionally with parents regarding student performance
Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, moderation, and interdisciplinary initiatives
Participate actively in staff meetings, professional learning communities, and school events
To conduct additional support classes for students if needed.
Engage in ongoing professional development, including IB and Cambridge training
Contribute positively to the school’s international culture and mission.
Guide students in Extended Essay coursework.
Qualifications & Experience
Master’s degree in economics, Education, or a related field
Recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent)
Minimum 3 years of experience teaching IGCSE Economics and/or IB Economics
Strong understanding of international curricula and assessment practices
Experience working in an international or multicultural school environment (preferred)
Skills & Competencies
Strong subject knowledge and effective pedagogy in Economics
Excellent communication and classroom facilitation skills
Ability to connect economic theory with current global issues
Cultural sensitivity and adaptability in a diverse school community
Proficiency in educational technology and learning management systems
