Position Summary
The Primary English Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective English language instruction to students in Grades 3–5. The role requires fostering strong literacy, communication, reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills while creating an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
Candidates with exposure to the Cambridge (IGCSE/Cambridge Primary) curriculum will be preferred. Experience in CBSE schools with a strong understanding of competency-based and student-centred learning approaches will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons for Grades 3–5.
- Develop students' reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension skills.
- Implement interactive and inquiry-based teaching methodologies.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
- Encourage creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaborative learning.
- Integrate technology and innovative teaching practices into classroom instruction.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and student-focused learning environment.
Assessment & Academic Monitoring
- Design and administer formative and summative assessments.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate academic records.
- Provide timely feedback to students and parents regarding academic performance.
- Identify learning gaps and implement appropriate intervention strategies.
- Prepare report cards, progress reports, and assessment documentation.
Classroom Management
- Maintain an organized, safe, and engaging classroom environment.
- Establish clear behavioural expectations and classroom routines.
- Promote student discipline, responsibility, and respect.
Parent & School Engagement
- Conduct parent-teacher meetings and maintain effective communication with parents.
- Collaborate with colleagues, coordinators, and school leadership to support student success.
- Participate in school events, assemblies, competitions, projects, and co-curricular activities.
- Contribute to curriculum planning and academic initiatives.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Complete lesson plans, assessments, reports, and documentation within timelines.
- Maintain student portfolios and academic records.
- Support school policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in English or a relevant discipline.
- B.Ed. qualification.
- Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience in Primary Grades.
Preferred
- Exposure to Cambridge Primary / IGCSE curriculum.
- Experience in CBSE schools.
- Strong understanding of competency-based and inquiry-based learning methodologies.
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
