ROLE OVERVIEW
As an Electrical Engineer II, you will be a key member of our semiconductor equipment engineering team, taking on technical assignments for the design and development of semiconductor capital equipment and other industrial machinery. You will draw upon your expertise in AC/DC power distribution, automation and PLC control systems, and digital/analog interfaces to deliver reliable, high-precision electrical solutions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES but not limited to:
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering design teams to design and modify custom and OEM system components.
- Design Tool Installation Packages, including schematics, facility data, general routing, and details.
- Assist in the development of electrical product specifications and test documentation.
- Prepare engineering specification documents, coordinating with software teams, manufacturing, and other business unit engineering departments.
- Create and release engineering drawings and bills of materials using engineering change management processes.
- Identify and recommend alternatives for obsolete components, and perform lifecycle assessments with formal reporting.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical problems, identifying root causes in critical parts and subsystems.
- Apply knowledge of AC/DC power distribution systems to support equipment design and commissioning.
- Leverage knowledge of UL-listed components and relevant electrical standards in design decisions.
- Utilise PLM tools to manage engineering data and change processes.
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Strong knowledge of AC/DC power distribution and control system design.
- Proficiency in electrical hand calculations: load analysis, Short Circuit Current Rating (SCCR), phase balance, and related analyses.
- Ability to interpret and produce ANSI/IEC electrical schematics, single-line diagrams (SLD), and three-line diagrams.
- Hands-on laboratory skills for measurement and testing using standard electrical instruments.
- Proficiency in electrical design software such as SolidWorks Electrical or AutoCAD Electrical.
- Familiarity with PLC and automation control systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for complex electrical systems.
- A collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively across engineering disciplines.
- Quick learner with a proactive attitude toward taking on new challenges.
- Good knowledge about SEMI, NFPA standards.
- Added advantage: knowledge of LT panels, special-purpose machines, industrial interfaces, and semiconductor manufacturing processes.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3-6 years of professional work experience in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Prior exposure to semiconductor equipment, industrial machinery, or high-precision manufacturing environments is advantageous.
- Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
