Staff Nurse / Caretaker
Job Summary
The Staff Nurse / Caretaker is responsible for providing compassionate, safe, and effective care to patients, elderly individuals, or residents. The role includes assisting with daily living activities, monitoring health conditions, administering medications (for nurses), maintaining patient comfort, and supporting overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Provide direct care and support to patients, residents, or clients.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility.
- Monitor and report changes in health status to supervisors or healthcare professionals.
- Maintain patient hygiene, comfort, and safety.
Nursing Duties (Staff Nurse)
- Assess patient conditions and record vital signs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Maintain accurate patient records and nursing documentation.
- Assist doctors during examinations and medical procedures.
- Follow infection control and patient safety protocols.
Caretaker Duties
- Provide companionship and emotional support.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding when required.
- Help patients with mobility, transfers, and exercise routines.
- Accompany clients to appointments or recreational activities if needed.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment.
General Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and seek appropriate assistance.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Adhere to organizational policies and professional standards.
Qualifications
For Staff Nurse:
- Diploma/GNM/B.Sc. Nursing.
- Valid nursing registration/license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
For Caretaker:
- High school education or caretaker certification preferred.
- Previous caregiving experience is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of elderly care and patient handling.
Skills Required
- Compassion and empathy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Patience and problem-solving abilities.
- Physical stamina to assist patients with mobility and daily activities.
- Basic record-keeping and observation skills.
Working Hours
- Rotational shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.
- Full-time, or live-in arrangements depending on the organization.
Reporting To
- Nurse Supervisor, Healthcare Manager, or Facility Administrator.
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Bengaluru, Karnataka: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Nursing License (Preferred)
Shift availability:
- Day Shift (Preferred)
- Night Shift (Preferred)
- Overnight Shift (Preferred)
