In the role of Custom Software Engineering Lead, a typical day involves overseeing the technical vision and architectural framework for bespoke software projects. This position requires guiding teams through the entire lifecycle of software design and implementation, ensuring that development practices meet high standards. The role includes coordinating efforts to maintain code quality, scalability, and system performance, all while aligning with the strategic goals of the organization. Collaboration with various stakeholders and continuous evaluation of technical approaches are integral to driving successful project outcomes.
Roles & Responsibilities:
1 Define ADAS platform system reference architectures spanning multiple SoC platforms sensor suites and vehicle program configurations
2 Lead adoption of MBSE methodologies and associated toolchains SysML AUTOSAR Architect across all ADAS programs
3 Drive systems engineering strategy for SDV ADAS including zone controller integration vehicle OS service interfaces and centralized compute migration
4 Lead functional safety strategy at organizational level including ASIL allocation governance SEooC qualification and Dependent Failure Analysis frameworks
5 Interface with OEM and Tier 1 Systems Engineers for platform level architecture alignment and joint reference architecture development
6 Champion SOTIF analysis governance across all programs including standardized functional insufficiency analysis templates and validation strategies
7 Establish reusable ADAS systems engineering IPs including reference architecture libraries safety concept templates and ICD standard formats
8 Govern ASPICE Level 3 SYS process compliance organization wide and define process improvement roadmap for Level 4 and Level 5 readiness
9 Lead complex technical proposal development for high value ADAS systems engineering engagement opportunities
10 Build systems engineering competency through ADAS systems engineering training curriculum CoE establishment and expert mentoring
11 Contribute to ADAS industry standards through active participation in ISO SAE committees and AUTOSAR safety working groups
Professional & Technical Skills:
1 Must Have Mastery of ADAS system engineering including architecture functional safety management and requirements engineering methods
2 Must Have Expert level ISO 26262 Parts 3 and 4 and SOTIF ISO 21448 application experience across multiple production programs
3 Must Have Experience defining platform level ADAS system architectures across SoC generations sensor configurations and OEM programs
4 Must Have Deep MBSE expertise with SysML based system design and model driven requirements management in automotive context
5 Must Have Experience governing ASPICE compliant systems engineering organization wide and driving continuous process improvement
6 Must Have Proven ability to engage with OEM Chief Engineers and Systems Engineering teams on complex ADAS platform programs
7 Must Have Track record of delivering systems engineering excellence across high complexity high volume ADAS production programs
8 Good to Have Experience with ADAS homologation including UNECE R152 and R157 technical dossier preparation and type approval processes
9 Good to Have Knowledge of advanced safety analyses including Common Cause Failure Analysis CCFA and Dependent Failure Analysis DFA at portfolio level
10 Good to Have Exposure to next generation ADAS EE architectures including federated zonal and flat network SDV designs at system level
11 Good to Have Understanding of SOTIF 20 trends Responsibility Sensitive Safety RSS and their system engineering implications
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 15 years of experience in ADAS Automotive Embedded or SDV domain.
