We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Lead AWS Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, optimize, and support cloud-based database environments within the AWS ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AWS database services, performance tuning, monitoring, automation, and database reliability engineering. The role requires hands-on experience in managing both SQL and NoSQL databases, implementing best practices for security and scalability, and collaborating with DevOps and engineering teams to ensure high availability and operational excellence.

Manage, monitor, and optimize AWS database services including RDS, Aurora PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and Redshift.

Perform database installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, backup, recovery, and migration activities.

Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, replication, and database security best practices.

Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues proactively using tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, or similar monitoring platforms.

Work closely with DevOps and engineering teams to support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.

Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and capacity planning.

Implement database automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using Terraform or CloudFormation.

Support cloud cost optimization initiatives and FinOps best practices.

Collaborate with application teams for database integration in containerized environments such as ECS/EKS.

Maintain documentation related to database architecture, operational procedures, and incident management.

8+ years of experience in Database Administration.

Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in AWS cloud ecosystem.

Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.

Experience with database monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, or equivalent.

Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and optimization skills.

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).

Knowledge of cost governance tools and FinOps practices.

Exposure to containerized workloads and database integration with ECS/EKS.

AWS certifications will be an added advantage.
