Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Purchase Manager to lead and manage the centralized procurement function from our Head Office in Andheri West, Mumbai. The role will be responsible for strategic sourcing, supplier development, cost optimization, procurement planning, and ensuring uninterrupted supply of materials across all manufacturing locations.
The candidate will manage procurement operations for critical raw materials, CAPEX requirements, indirect materials, logistics coordination, and vendor management while working closely with plant teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Sourcing & Raw Material Procurement
- Lead strategic sourcing and procurement of critical raw materials required for conveyor belt manufacturing operations.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and uninterrupted material availability.
- Identify alternate suppliers and develop a robust supplier base to reduce supply risks.
- Evaluate market trends, raw material pricing, and industry developments to support procurement decisions.
2. Domestic & International Procurement
- Manage domestic and international procurement activities, including supplier identification, qualification, negotiations, and relationship management.
- Develop overseas suppliers for imported materials and ensure compliance with required quality and delivery standards.
- Handle import procurement processes, documentation, shipment coordination, and logistics planning.
3. CAPEX Procurement
- Manage CAPEX procurement activities including:
- Heavy machinery
- Production equipment
- Plant machinery
- Imported assets and technical equipment
- Coordinate with Directors, Engineering, Projects, and Plant teams for technical evaluation and vendor finalization.
- Negotiate commercial terms, contracts, warranties, payment terms, and service agreements as per the requirement and Directors or Engineers requirements
4. Procurement Planning & Cost Optimization
- Prepare and monitor procurement budgets aligned with business requirements.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives through:
- Strategic negotiations
- Supplier consolidation
- Value engineering
- Alternate sourcing
- Process improvements
- Identify opportunities for reducing procurement costs while maintaining quality standards.
5. Vendor Management & Development
- Manage supplier relationships and performance through regular reviews and evaluations.
- Conduct vendor assessments related to:
- Quality performance
- Delivery timelines
- Pricing competitiveness
- Service levels
- Coordinate with Quality teams for supplier audits, corrective actions, and improvement plans.
6. Supply Chain & Logistics Coordination
- Ensure effective coordination between suppliers, logistics partners, and manufacturing locations.
- Plan material movement to ensure timely availability at plants.
- Monitor delivery schedules, transportation arrangements, and supply chain risks.
7. Centralized Procurement Management
- Manage procurement operations through the centralized purchasing office based at Andheri West, Mumbai.
- Standardize procurement processes, documentation, approval workflows, and reporting across locations.
- Provide procurement support and guidance to all manufacturing units.
8. Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and manage the procurement team including:
- Personal Assistant
- Logistics Executive
- Purchase support team members
- Allocate responsibilities, monitor performance, and ensure timely completion of procurement activities.
- Develop team capabilities through process improvement and knowledge sharing.
9. Plant-Level Purchase Coordination
- Provide guidance and support to plant-level purchase managers across all manufacturing locations.
- Ensure alignment between corporate procurement strategies and plant requirements.
- Monitor plant procurement performance and identify improvement opportunities.
10. Indirect Procurement Management
It is part of Plant Purchase manager responsibility but in case he need support and guidance so he should have knowledge or can arrange material in absence of him.

- MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) items
- Consumables
- Tools and spares
- Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC)
- Other indirect purchases
- Ensure timely availability of essential operational materials.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of strategic procurement and supply chain management.
- Experience in handling raw material procurement in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Experience in domestic and international sourcing.
- Knowledge of CAPEX purchasing and technical procurement.
- Ability to manage multiple manufacturing locations.
- Strong analytical, commercial, and decision-making abilities.
- Leadership skills with experience managing procurement teams.
Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain / Commerce / Business Administration or related field.
- MBA / PG Diploma in Supply Chain Management preferred.
Preferred Industry Experience:
Candidates with experience in:
- Conveyor Belt Manufacturing
- Rubber Products Industry
- Industrial Manufacturing
- Heavy Engineering
- Textile / Technical Textile Industry
- Automotive / Industrial Components Manufacturing
will be preferred.
Reporting To: Director or Head – Supply Chain / Management
Work Location: Head Office, Andheri West, Mumbai
Pay: ₹600,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
