Job Summary
The Accountant is responsible for managing the academy's financial records, ensuring statutory compliance, maintaining accurate accounts, and supporting management with financial reporting and budgeting. The role requires strong accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting software.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Accounting
- Maintain accurate books of accounts in accordance with accounting standards.
- Record all financial transactions, including receipts, payments, journal entries, and bank transactions.
- Reconcile bank accounts, cash balances, and ledgers on a regular basis.
- Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts.
Student Fees & Revenue Management
- Generate student fee invoices and receipts.
- Monitor fee collections and outstanding balances.
- Follow up on pending fee payments in coordination with the Admissions and Front Office teams.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly fee collection reports.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process vendor invoices and employee reimbursements.
- Prepare payment schedules and ensure timely payments.
- Maintain records of creditors and debtors.
- Reconcile vendor and customer accounts periodically.
Payroll & Employee Benefits
- Prepare monthly payroll in coordination with the HR department.
- Calculate salaries, allowances, deductions, incentives, and reimbursements.
- Maintain payroll records and statutory deductions.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly Profit & Loss statements.
- Prepare Balance Sheet and Cash Flow reports.
- Generate MIS reports for management.
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor expenses against approved budgets.
Cash & Asset Management
- Maintain petty cash records.
- Monitor cash flow and fund requirements.
- Maintain the fixed asset register.
- Record depreciation and asset movements.
Audit Support
- Prepare financial documents for internal and external audits.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records.
- Assist auditors by providing required reports and supporting documents.
Administrative Support
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
- Support management with financial analysis and decision-making.
- Suggest improvements to financial controls and accounting processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com) or Accounting.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
