About the Role
We're looking for a hands-on, curious Automation Intern to help design, build, and maintain workflow automations using n8n (or similar platforms) integrated with AI/LLM tools. You'll work on connecting apps, APIs, and AI models to streamline business processes — from lead generation to CRM updates to AI-powered content generation.
This role is ideal for someone who loves tinkering, breaking things, fixing them, and figuring out how systems talk to each other.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain automation workflows in n8n
- Integrate APIs, webhooks, and third-party platforms (LinkedIn, Gmail, Google Drive, WhatsApp, Slack, CRMs, etc.)
- Work with AI/LLM APIs (OpenAI, Gemini, Claude) to build intelligent, AI-driven workflows
- Write and refine prompts to structure reliable AI outputs
- Use JavaScript (and Python where needed) for custom logic and expressions within workflows
- Manage data using Google Sheets, Excel, or databases
- Debug and troubleshoot broken workflows, API errors, and integration issues
- Handle credentials, API keys, and OAuth connections securely
- Document workflows and processes for internal reference
- Independently research and solve problems with minimal hand-holding
Must-Have Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with n8n or similar automation platforms (Zapier, Make, etc.)
- Understanding of APIs, webhooks, JSON, and HTTP requests
- Ability to connect and integrate different tools/platforms
- Experience working with AI/LLMs (OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, etc.)
- Good grasp of prompt engineering and structuring AI outputs
- Basic JavaScript for expressions and workflow logic
- Basic Python is a plus
- Comfort working with databases, Google Sheets, and Excel
- Strong debugging skills — able to read errors and fix broken workflows
- Understanding of OAuth, API keys, and credential management
- Experience (or willingness to learn) integrations with LinkedIn, Gmail, Google Drive, WhatsApp, Slack, CRMs, etc.
- Most important: the ability to independently figure things out
Good to Have
- Prior internship/project experience with automation or workflow tools
- Familiarity with REST APIs and Postman
- Basic understanding of databases (SQL/NoSQL)
- Portfolio of personal automation projects (even small ones)
