Job Summary
The Hostel Warden is responsible for the overall supervision, discipline, safety, cleanliness, and welfare of students residing in the hostel. The warden ensures a safe, healthy, and supportive living environment and maintains proper hostel records and discipline.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Supervise the day-to-day activities and discipline of hostel residents.
- Ensure compliance with hostel rules, regulations, and institutional policies.
- Maintain a safe, secure, clean, and hygienic hostel environment.
- Monitor student attendance, entry, and exit records.
- Conduct regular rounds and inspections of hostel rooms and common areas.
- Address student concerns, complaints, and day-to-day problems.
- Maintain proper records of hostel residents, attendance, visitors, incidents, and leave applications.
- Ensure students follow prescribed timings for study, meals, recreation, and lights-out.
- Coordinate with management, teaching staff, security, housekeeping, and maintenance teams.
- Monitor hostel facilities, furniture, electrical equipment, water supply, and other essential services.
- Report maintenance issues and ensure timely resolution.
- Take appropriate action during emergencies and immediately inform the concerned authority.
- Ensure unauthorized visitors do not enter the hostel premises.
- Support students in maintaining discipline and positive behavior.
- Assist in organizing hostel activities, meetings, and student welfare programs.
- Ensure proper implementation of health, safety, and emergency procedures.
- Prepare and submit regular hostel reports to the management.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Principal or management.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Graduate degree or equivalent qualification preferred.
- Previous experience in hostel administration, student management, education, or residential supervision is preferred.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and disciplinary skills.
- Ability to handle emergencies and resolve student issues calmly.
- Basic computer and record-keeping skills.
- Responsible, disciplined, patient, and approachable personality.
