Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations (refraction, vision testing)
- Diagnose vision problems and basic eye conditions
- Prescribe spectacles and contact lenses
- Advise customers on lens types, coatings, frames, and eye care
- Fit and dispense eyeglasses and contact lenses
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of optometry equipment
Retail / Optical Store-Specific Duties
- Assist customers in selecting frames based on face shape and lifestyle
- Handle customer queries and provide product recommendations
- Monitor stock of lenses, frames, and contact lenses
- Ensure quality of lens fitting and measurements
- Coordinate with opticians and sales staff
- Maintain store hygiene and visual merchandising standards
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Optometry
- Valid registration/license (as per local regulations)
- 0–3 years experience (freshers can also apply in retail setups)
Key Skills
- Strong knowledge of refraction and eye testing
- Customer service and communication skills
- Sales and product knowledge (frames, lenses, contact lenses)
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle optical instruments
