A Plumber in a college hostel is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining the hostel's plumbing systems to ensure a safe and reliable water supply and proper sanitation for students and staff. The plumber performs routine inspections, responds to maintenance requests, and carries out preventive maintenance to minimize disruptions. The role requires compliance with safety standards and plumbing regulations while ensuring all plumbing fixtures and equipment function efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain water supply, drainage, and sewage systems in hostel buildings.
- Inspect plumbing systems regularly to identify leaks, blockages, or other issues.
- Repair or replace faulty pipes, valves, taps, toilets, wash basins, showers, and water heaters.
- Respond promptly to emergency plumbing complaints from hostel residents.
- Ensure uninterrupted water supply and proper drainage throughout the hostel.
- Perform preventive maintenance to reduce equipment failures and plumbing issues.
- Maintain pumps, overhead tanks, and water distribution systems.
- Keep maintenance records and report major repairs or replacement requirements.
- Follow safety procedures and comply with applicable plumbing codes and regulations.
- Coordinate with the hostel administration and maintenance team to complete repair work efficiently.
Required Skills

Qualifications
