Introduction to the Job:
We are seeking a Senior Customer Portfolio Partner. The ideal candidate will bring significant senior-level experience owning and governing complex customer project portfolios and engaging with customers to proactively plan upcoming work requests. You will bring a proven background in senior project management, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to lead multiple high-priority portfolios simultaneously in a complex, dynamic environment. You must be comfortable operating as a senior peer alongside experienced leadership, influencing executive-level decisions, and presenting confidently to C-suite stakeholders in formal settings. Additionally, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, e.g., engineers and architects, along with business and technical stakeholders, to ensure customer projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
What are we working on?
- The Enterprise Technology (ET) Project Management Office (PMO) supports technology projects across CSC including application services, enterprise security, infrastructure, cloud services, reliability, and application development.
- Enterprise Technology currently have a significant portfolio of work supporting our business unit customers as they grow and transform the technologies they use to deliver our award-winning client applications.
- The Customer Portfolio Partner Team is an integral part of the PMO Team and our ability to successfully deliver project and portfolio management services across the organization.
- The Customer Portfolio Partner Team supports all customer requested projects, such as technology platform modernisation, infrastructure modernisation, office relocations and refits, modernisation of our user endpoint estate, and standardisation of processes and procedures.
The PMO is also actively revising its internal processes to support our global customers.

Some of the things you’ll be doing:
Portfolio Management and Project Delivery
- Translate BU requests into clear technology objectives and key results, ensuring alignment with broader business strategy and ET roadmap priorities.
- Work with aligned BUs to prioritize and sequence work requests to support BU strategy delivery.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, resources, and budget.
Identify and manage project risks, constraints, issues, and dependencies, ensuring timely resolution and escalation when necessary.

- Represent the brand to the highest standards in all customer interactions, embodying professionalism and expertise.
Operate as a highly proactive partner to the business, taking ownership of identifying, shaping, and advancing work initiatives & business cases.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers, serving as a trusted partner for their Enterprise Technology portfolio needs.
Consistently deliver a top-tier customer experience, leveraging ET and PMO processes and best practices to exceed expectations.

Team Leadership and Collaboration
- Guide customers through ET processes, facilitating their requests and required engagement from ET resources.
- Lead cross-functional project teams, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and alignment with project objectives.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including developers, architects, engineers, technology team leads, and business teams, to ensure successful project outcomes.
Provide clear direction, mentorship, and coaching to project team members and junior partners, helping to build team capability and PM practice maturity.

Monitoring and Reporting
- Track project progress against milestones and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Prepare and present regular project status reports to stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Provide awareness and transparency around customer portfolios, ensuring business stakeholders are informed and engaged.
- Track all risks and constraints and ensure mitigation plans align with the project schedule.
Conduct post-project evaluations to identify areas of improvement and share lessons learned.

Budget and Resource Management
- Manage project budgets, ensuring financial control and accountability.
- Manage project resources effectively, balancing team workload and project priorities.
Ensure efficient use of resources while maintaining high standards of quality and delivery.

Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the senior point of contact and trusted advisor for executive and senior stakeholders, proactively anticipating needs, resolving escalations, and managing expectations with confidence and credibility.
- Facilitate project meetings, including kick-offs, status updates, and retrospectives.
Maintain strong relationships with clients, vendor resources, and other external partners.

Process Improvement
- Continuously improve project management processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Implement best practices in agile and/or waterfall project management, depending on project requirements.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies to drive innovation within the team.

What technical skills, experience, and qualifications do you need?
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in project management within the technology or software development industry, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead PM capacity managing enterprise-scale portfolios.
- Proven track record of leading and delivering large, complex customer-facing technology programs and portfolios on time and within budget, with direct accountability for outcomes at the executive level.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project portfolios and drive transparency across stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies like Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, and Kanban.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as ServiceNow and MS Project.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with risk management and change management processes.
- PMP certification preferred; PMI-ACP, PRINCE2, or advanced Agile certifications (e.g., SAFe, ScrumMaster) strongly preferred.
