Role Summary
We are seeking a HVAC Design Engineer with 7 - 12 years of experience to join our MEP division. The role involves designing, analyzing, and optimizing HVAC systems for residential, commercial, and industrial projects while ensuring compliance with international standards and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
· Conduct heat load calculations using tools such as HAP (Hourly Analysis Program).
· Design HVAC systems including chiller plants (air-cooled & water-cooled), VRF, DX systems, etc.
· Select HVAC equipment such as chillers, cooling towers, AHUs, FCUs, VRF systems, fans, and DX units.
· Perform ventilation requirement analysis, pump head calculations, ESP determination, and duct/piping sizing.
· Select and specify air distribution components (VAV boxes, diffusers, grilles, louvers).
· Prepare Design Brief Reports (DBR), Tender Documentation Specifications (TDS), Quantity Take-offs (QTO), and BOQs.
· Ensure designs comply with ASHRAE, ISHRAE, and other applicable codes & standards.
· Plan and design HVAC systems focusing on energy efficiency, sustainability, and indoor air quality.
· Coordinate HVAC design with architectural, structural, and electrical teams.
· Attend client meetings, subcontractor discussions, and supplier reviews.
· Participate in project review meetings and resolve technical/engineering issues in real time.
Qualifications & Skills
· Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (specialization in HVAC preferred).
· 7–12 years of proven experience in HVAC design and engineering.
· Strong knowledge of HVAC principles, refrigeration cycles, and equipment selection.
· Proficiency in HAP, AutoCAD, Revit MEP preferred.
· Familiarity with ASHRAE, ISHRAE, NBC, and other international standards.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
· Accuracy of heat load & equipment sizing calculations.
· Timely delivery of DBRs, BOQs, and TDS.
· Compliance with codes, standards, and project specifications.
· Effective coordination with other disciplines.
· Contribution to energy-efficient and sustainable design solutions.
· Positive client and project team feedback.
