Position Title: Head of Fabrication (Technical)

Role Overview
The Fabrication Head (Technical) leads all technical, engineering, and manufacturing operations within the fabrication shop floor. This role is responsible for overseeing structural/metal fabrication processes, driving process optimization, ensuring strict compliance with engineering codes and quality standards (NDT, ASME, ISO), and managing shop floor technical teams to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Operations & Engineering: Oversee end-to-end fabrication engineering, including cutting, bending, machining, fitting, assembly, and advanced welding operations (SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, SAW).
- Design & Drawing Interpretation: Interpret complex engineering drawings (GD&T, fabrication layouts, structural details) and translate them into efficient shop floor execution plans.
- Quality & Standards Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to international quality standards, WPS/PQR certifications, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) protocols, and client inspection requirements.
- Process Optimization & Automation: Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Six Sigma strategies to eliminate waste, improve cycle times, and integrate automated machinery (CNC Laser/Plasma cutters, robotic welding).
- Resource & Capacity Planning: Manage machine allocation, material yield, scrap reduction, and shop floor manpower scheduling to meet production targets.
- Safety & Maintenance Oversight: Oversee Preventive Maintenance programs for heavy machinery and enforce stringent Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards across fabrication bays.
- Team Leadership & Training: Direct and upskill floor supervisors, welding engineers, fitters, and technicians; foster a continuous improvement mindset.

Category Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Production Engineering (Master’s preferred)
Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of welding metallurgy, WPS/PQR, NDT methods (UT, RT, MT, PT), GD&T, and ASME/AWS/ISO codes
Machinery Knowledge: Expertise in CNC cutting machines, hydraulic press brakes, rolling machines, and automated welding cells
Certifications: CSWIP 3.1 / AWS-CWI, NDT Level II/III, or Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt highly advantageous
Software Proficiency ERP systems (SAP/Oracle), AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MS Project, MS Excel. MS Word, PPT & etc.
Pay: ₹10,587.56 - ₹44,006.74 per month
