WE ARE HIRING — EXPERT WEDDING DECORATION STYLIST (POSITION BASED IN SINGAPORE)
PLEASE READ THIS FIRST: this is a HANDS-ON DECORATION role. You will design AND build. If your experience is graphic design, interior design drawings, CAD only, sales or admin, this is not the role for you and we will not shortlist you. We are looking for someone who has personally built wedding stages and mandaps with their own hands.
ABOUT US
Alangkaar (Raja's Catering & Alangkaar Weddings) is one of Singapore's leading Indian wedding and events groups. We design and build decor for hundreds of weddings and large events a year — stages, mandaps, backdrops, drapery, floral installations, arches and walkways, plus the lighting that goes with them. Events run from 100 to 800 guests.
We are hiring ONE senior person to own the look of every event we do.
THE ROLE — WHAT YOU WILL ACTUALLY OWN
- Design the decoration concept for each wedding and event, and present it to the client
- Choose the colour story, fabric, floral and lighting scheme
- Draw or sketch the stage and mandap layout so the crew can build it
- LEAD THE BUILD ON SITE — you are on the venue floor with the crew, not in an office
- Set and hold the finishing standard: clean lines, tight drapery, level frames, hidden fixings
- Cost your own designs so they are profitable, and work within a client's budget
- Source fabric, flowers, props and materials, and manage supplier quality
- Train and direct our existing setup crew to your standard
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE
- MINIMUM 5 YEARS actually building wedding or event decoration — mandap, stage, pandal, tentage, floral installation or exhibition work
- A REAL PORTFOLIO of your own finished work that you can show us in photographs
- The ability to take a design from your own head to a finished, built stage
- Genuine hands-on skill: measuring, aligning, levelling, fabric tensioning, floral mechanics
- Comfortable working at height and doing physical setup work
- Willing to work weekends and evenings — that is when events happen
- Willing to relocate to Singapore
NICE TO HAVE
- South Indian and North Indian wedding traditions — mandap, muhurtham, reception staging
- Decorative and architectural lighting
- Sketch, SketchUp or hand-drawn 3D visuals for client presentation
- A trade certificate
LANGUAGE: Tamil or Hindi is fine. Our supervisors speak Tamil. Working English is useful for client-facing work, but we will not screen you out on English alone — we are hiring your craft and your eye.

2. For 3 of those photos, tell us: what was the budget, how big was the team, how many hours to build it, and which part did you personally do with your hands?
3. A short video or voice note in your own language walking us through one build you are proud of.
4. Your years in the trade, and the largest event you have decorated.
5. A photo of any trade certificate you hold.

WHAT WE OFFER
- Singapore package of SGD 3,300 – 4,500 per month (approximately INR 2,00,000 – 2,90,000) depending on experience and portfolio
- Work pass sponsorship and relocation support — we handle the pass, levy, medical insurance and security bond
