Key Responsibilities:1. Patient Interaction:
- Greet patients and visitors upon arrival with a warm, welcoming demeanor.
- Assist patients with completing necessary paperwork, ensuring accuracy and compliance with hospital policies.
- Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and medical history.
- Provide information regarding hospital services, departments, and directions to patients and visitors.
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments as required.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes in an efficient and respectful manner.
- Communicate with patients regarding delays or changes in their appointments.
2. Administrative Support:
- Answer phone calls, direct inquiries to appropriate departments, and take detailed messages for hospital staff.
- Manage patient files and records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure timely patient care and updates.
- Maintain accurate and updated appointment records and assist with patient flow management.
- Ensure that all relevant patient information is entered into the hospital’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) or other systems.
3. Customer Service:
- Provide assistance to patients with inquiries about billing, insurance coverage, or service-related questions.
- Handle patient complaints or concerns with empathy and professionalism, escalating issues as needed.
- Maintain patient satisfaction by offering excellent service and attention to detail.
- Ensure that waiting areas are kept clean, organized, and comfortable for patients and their families.
4. Coordination & Communication:
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., medical records, billing, housekeeping) to ensure the smooth running of hospital operations.
- Communicate with physicians, nurses, and hospital staff to coordinate appointments, treatments, and services for patients.
- Keep patients and family members informed about appointment status, delays, or any relevant changes.
5. Security & Compliance:
- Monitor and control access to restricted areas of the hospital, ensuring only authorized individuals are allowed in specific zones.
- Ensure proper handling of sensitive personal health information in compliance with hospital policies and HIPAA standards.
- Ensure that all visitors sign in and receive necessary visitor badges or instructions.
