We are seeking an experienced Senior Production Engineer to manage manufacturing operations on the shop floor. The ideal candidate will drive production efficiency, ensure output targets are met with consistent quality, and lead a team of engineers, supervisors, and operators. This role requires strong technical expertise in manufacturing processes, hands-on problem-solving ability, and leadership skills to manage day-to-day production activities.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule, and supervise daily production activities to meet output, quality, and delivery targets.
- Monitor production processes and implement improvements to increase efficiency, reduce cycle time, and minimize waste
- Lead root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for production downtime, rejections, and process deviations.
- Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Planning, and Supply Chain teams to ensure smooth production flow.
- Prepare and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and process control documents.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, 5S, TPM) on the shop floor.
- · Ensure compliance with safety, statutory, and environmental regulations in all production activities.
- Analyze production data (OEE, yield, downtime, scrap rate) and prepare reports for management review.
- Train, mentor, and supervise production engineers, supervisors, and operators.
- Manage manpower planning, shift scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Identify and implement cost-reduction opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
- Handle escalations related to machine breakdowns, process bottlenecks, or quality issues in coordination with Maintenance and Quality teams.
Desired Profile:
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, machine operations, and production planning.
- Analytical and data-driven decision-making ability.
- Good communication skills — able to liaise with management, peers, and shop-floor staff.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
