Position Overview
The Manager - Application will be responsible for leading the strategy, development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise applications that support the University’s academic, administrative, and research functions. The role will ensure that IT applications align with institutional goals, provide seamless user experiences, and comply with applicable regulatory and security standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute the roadmap for university-wide IT applications, including ERP, LMS, CRM, and research management systems.
- Align application strategy with the University’s academic and administrative objectives.
- Application Development & Management
- Oversee the design, customization, integration, and deployment of enterprise applications.
- Ensure scalability, interoperability, and high availability of applications and systems.
- Manage vendor relationships and evaluate new technologies for adoption.
- Governance & Compliance
- Implement data security, privacy, and compliance standards, including UGC, NAAC, AICTE, and GDPR where applicable.
- Establish and maintain policies for application lifecycle management and change control.
- Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor application developers, analysts, and support staff.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with academic departments, administration, and research units to understand application requirements.
- Provide training and support to end-users to maximize application adoption and efficiency.
- Performance Monitoring
- Define KPIs for application performance and user satisfaction.
- Ensure timely upgrades, patches, and disaster recovery plans.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum 10–12 years of experience in IT, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing enterprise applications.
- Experience with higher education IT systems such as ERP, LMS, and Student Information Systems is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of application architecture, cloud platforms, and integration technologies.
- Excellent project management and vendor negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with data governance and cybersecurity best practices.
