1. Strategic Design Leadership & Site Optimization
• Oversee and direct the design engineering for large-scale land development projects, including master planning, site layouts, grading, earthwork balancing, stormwater management, and utility infrastructure networks.
• Drive maximum efficiency in land utilization, balancing developer yield requirements with civil constraints and environmental sustainability.
• Champion Value Engineering across all site designs, prioritizing accurate earthwork cut/fill balances to drastically minimize client construction costs.
2. Surveying, Geospatial Strategy & Technology Integration
• Provide strategic oversight for all land surveying operations (boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction staking) and ensure seamless translation of field data into the engineering workflow.
• Accelerate the adoption of advanced geospatial technologies, incorporating UAV/Drone surveying, LiDAR data, GIS systems, and 3D laser scanning into standard design workflows.
• Bridge the gap between raw field survey data and civil design execution, establishing rigid data-verification protocols to eliminate site discrepancies.
3. Operational Excellence, Mentorship & Accountability
• Manage, mentor, and scale a high-performance team of Project Managers, Civil Designers, GIS Analysts, and Survey Leads, establishing clear lines of individual and team accountability.
• Conduct high-level technical reviews to enforce engineering quality, drastically reducing municipal resubmittal rates and design revisions.
• Standardize division-wide workflows to optimize project throughput, accelerate turnaround times (TAT), and maximize resource utilization.
4. Regulatory Compliance & Stakeholder Management
• Ensure all designs strictly comply with local, municipal, state, and federal zoning laws, environmental regulations, and infrastructure design standards (e.g., DOT, EPA, local municipal codes).
• Represent the organization as the primary technical authority in client alignments, municipal hearings, and cross-functional project coordination.
Leadership & Mindset:
• Radical Ownership: A leader who takes full accountability for end-to-end site delivery, from the initial boundary line to the final utility connection.
• Relationship-First Focus: Proven ability to build trusted partnerships with clients, regulatory agencies, and internal cross-functional departments.
• Forward-Thinking Innovator: Passionate about pushing the boundaries of automation and digital twins in horizontal infrastructure development.
