Job Summary:
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day logistics operations, ensuring efficient transportation, warehousing, shipment management, customer satisfaction, and operational profitability. The role focuses on improving operational efficiency, maintaining service quality, controlling costs, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Operations Management
- Plan, organize, and manage daily logistics operations.
- Ensure timely pickup, transportation, and delivery of shipments.
- Monitor operational performance and service quality.
- Resolve operational issues and minimize delays.
2. Fleet & Transportation Management
- Manage vehicle allocation and route planning.
- Monitor fleet utilization and fuel efficiency.
- Coordinate with transport vendors and drivers.
- Ensure proper vehicle maintenance and legal documentation.
- Track shipment movement using GPS and logistics software.
3. Warehouse Management
- Supervise warehouse operations including receiving, storage, and dispatch.
- Ensure inventory accuracy and stock control.
- Maintain warehouse safety standards.
- Optimize warehouse space utilization.
- Coordinate loading and unloading activities.
4. Team Management
- Lead and supervise warehouse staff, transport coordinators, and operations executives.
- Assign daily tasks and monitor employee performance.
- Conduct training and skill development programs.
- Ensure discipline and compliance with company policies.
- Handle employee grievances and performance evaluations.
5. Customer Service
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with key clients regarding shipment status.
- Resolve customer complaints promptly.
- Maintain service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Build long-term customer relationships.
6. Vendor Management
- Manage relationships with transporters, contractors, and service providers.
- Negotiate transportation and operational contracts.
- Monitor vendor performance.
- Ensure timely vendor payments and documentation.
7. Cost Control
- Monitor transportation and operational expenses.
- Optimize routes to reduce logistics costs.
- Control fuel consumption and operational wastage.
- Prepare operational budgets and forecasts.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities.
8. Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with transport laws and government regulations.
- Maintain GST, E-Way Bill, POD, LR, and shipment documentation.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Conduct operational audits.
- Maintain accurate operational records.
9. Reporting & MIS
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
- Analyze shipment performance and operational efficiency.
- Present reports to senior management.
10. Continuous Improvement
- Identify operational bottlenecks.
- Implement process improvement initiatives.
- Introduce automation and technology where applicable.
- Improve delivery timelines and service quality.
- Enhance productivity across departments.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
