Job Description: VMC Setter
Position Title: VMC Setter cum Operator
Department: Manufacturing / Production
Reports to: Assistant Production Manager / Production Manager
Location: Coimbatore
Shift: Rotational Shifts
Job Summary:
The VMC (Vertical Machining Center) Setter is responsible for setting up and configuring the Vertical Machining Centers. The setter ensures that the machines are properly prepared for the production of high-quality parts, following engineering drawings, specifications, and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Setup & Configuration
- Program Loading and Adjustment
- Quality Control Knowledge
- Machine Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Safety and Housekeeping
- Communicate with team members, engineers, and supervisors to ensure production targets are met.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Flexibility to work on different shifts, including weekends or overtime if necessary.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or apprenticeship in machining or CNC operations is preferred but any degree is accepted
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in CNC machining, with a focus on VMC setup and operation.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of VMC machine operations
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Experience with CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code).
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
