Lead the housekeeping team to maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation standards across the hotel property. Ensure guest satisfaction.
*Key Responsibilities*
*1. Operations & Quality*
- *Daily supervision*: Assign areas to housekeeping staff, check attendance, and ensure shift handover is smooth
- *Standards*: Maintain cleanliness of rooms, corridors, washrooms, lobbies, offices, and common areas as per SOP
- *Inspections*: Conduct daily room/area audits using checklists. Ensure zero defects before handover
- *Inventory*: Track and indent cleaning chemicals, linen, guest amenities, equipment, and uniform. Control wastage.
*2. Team Management*
- *Training*: Train staff on cleaning methods, chemical usage, guest interaction, and new equipment
- *Scheduling*: Prepare duty rosters, leave planning, and manage extra manpower for events
- *Performance*: Monitor productivity, address grievances, and conduct appraisals
*3. Safety & Compliance*
- *Safety*: Ensure proper use of chemicals, signage for wet floors, and safe handling of machines like scrubbers and vacuum cleaners
- *SOPs*: Implement and update cleaning schedules, deep cleaning plans, and pest control coordination
*4. Coordination*
- Liaise with front office, maintenance, and admin for room readiness, breakdowns, and special requests
- Handle guest/employee complaints and resolve them within TAT
- Maintain daily reports: manpower, area cleaned, material consumption, and issues log
*Requirements*
- *Experience*: 3-5 years in housekeeping, with at least 1 year as Supervisor. Hotel management experience preferred
- *Skills*: Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and standards. Basic computer knowledge for reports
- *Education*: 12th pass minimum. Diploma/Degree in Hotel Management preferred
- *Other*: Good communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Willing to work in shifts, weekends, and holidays
