Job Description: PEB Checker
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced PEB Checker with strong expertise in Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) and structural steel detailing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing and checking detailed drawings, ensuring compliance with project specifications, client standards, and industry requirements. The role also involves leading a small team of junior detailers, providing technical guidance, and supporting detailing activities whenever required.
Key Responsibilities: Checking
Review and Verify:
- Check shop drawings, erection drawings, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, fabrication drawings, and connection details for accuracy and completeness.
- Verify dimensions, member sizes, connection details, welds, bolts, and assembly requirements before project release.
Compliance:
- Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, client requirements, engineering standards, and applicable industry codes.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies, clashes, and detailing errors in coordination with
- detailers.
BOM Verification:
- Review and validate Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure consistency with approved drawings and project requirements.
- Verify material quantities, grades, and component specifications for accuracy.
2. Team Management & Mentorship
Lead a Junior Team:
- Manage and supervise a small team of junior detailers, allocating tasks and monitoring project progress.
- Ensure deliverables are completed within project timelines while maintaining quality standards.
Technical Guidance:
- Provide technical support, training, and mentoring to junior team members.
- Review team output and offer constructive feedback to improve detailing quality and efficiency.
Performance Monitoring:
- Track team productivity, quality metrics, and project milestones.
- Support continuous skill development within the detailing team.
3. Core Detailing
Hands-on Detailing:
- Perform detailing and drafting activities when required to support project deadlines and workload demands.
- Prepare and revise detailed structural drawings using CAD software.
Problem-Solving:
- Resolve complex detailing challenges and provide practical solutions for fabrication and erection requirements.
- Assist in developing efficient detailing approaches to improve project execution.
4. Coordination & Communication
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Participate in technical discussions and project review meetings.
Client Communication:
- Address client comments, drawing revisions, and technical queries professionally and promptly.
- Ensure all project documentation and revisions are properly maintained.
Process Improvement:
- Contribute to improving detailing workflows, quality control procedures, and checking processes.
- Support standardization initiatives to enhance project efficiency and consistency.
Job Requirements & ProficienciesSoftware Skills:
- Proficient in CAD software and detailing tools.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and related reporting tools.
Technical Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of PEB systems, structural steel detailing, fabrication practices, and erection methodologies.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of industry standards and detailing best practices.
Data Management:
- Ability to manage BOMs, drawing revisions, project records, and documentation accurately.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent attention to detail and quality-focused mindset.
- Strong communication and coordination abilities.
- Effective leadership, mentoring, and team management skills.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
Academic Background & ExperienceEducation:
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in PEB detailing, structural steel detailing, or checking functions.
- Hands-on experience in reviewing shop drawings, erection drawings, GA drawings, and BOMs.
Leadership:
- Prior experience managing or mentoring junior detailers is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and maintain project quality standards.
