QA/QC Head – Data Center Construction Project
Lead and oversee all quality assurance and quality control activities for data center construction, ensuring compliance with design specifications, industry standards, building codes, and client requirements. Develop and implement comprehensive QA/QC plans, inspection protocols, and testing procedures specific to mission-critical data center environments.
Manage QA/QC team members, inspectors, and third-party testing agencies to conduct systematic inspections across all construction phases, from foundations and structural work through MEP systems, fire protection, and commissioning. Ensure rigorous documentation of all quality activities, non-conformance reports, corrective actions, and final acceptance testing.
Conduct regular site audits and inspections focusing on critical data center components including raised flooring systems, electrical infrastructure (UPS, generators, switchgear), cooling systems (CRAC/CRAH units, chillers), cable management, and environmental controls. Verify adherence to Tier classification requirements and uptime standards.
Coordinate closely with contractors, subcontractors, design consultants, and commissioning agents to resolve quality issues promptly and prevent rework. Review submittals, shop drawings, material certifications, and equipment testing reports to ensure compliance before installation and acceptance.
Establish quality metrics, perform trend analysis, and provide regular quality performance reports to project leadership and stakeholders. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned sessions to enhance quality outcomes and reduce defects.
Requires extensive experience in data center construction quality management, deep knowledge of mission-critical facility standards (TIA-942, Uptime Institute), and strong understanding of MEP systems. Professional certifications (CQM, CCP, PMP) and proven leadership in managing complex technical projects essential.
