Job Title: SST & Economics Teacher
Department: Academics
Reports To: Principal / HeadMistress / Head of Department (HOD)
Job Purpose
To plan, deliver, and assess high-quality teaching in Social Science and Economics in accordance with the CBSE curriculum, fostering critical thinking, conceptual understanding, and holistic development while creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Planning and Instruction
- Plan and deliver curriculum-aligned lessons as per CBSE guidelines.
- Prepare annual, term-wise, and weekly lesson plans.
- Ensure timely completion of the prescribed syllabus.
- Use learner-centered, competency-based, and experiential teaching methodologies.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring
- Design and administer formative and summative assessments.
- Evaluate assignments, projects, and examination papers objectively and within prescribed timelines.
- Analyze student performance and implement remedial and enrichment strategies.
- Maintain accurate academic records and assessment data.
Classroom Management
- Create a safe, inclusive, and disciplined classroom environment.
- Promote active student participation and collaborative learning.
- Encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and responsible citizenship.
Student Development
- Mentor students in their academic and personal growth.
- Encourage participation in debates, quizzes, Model United Nations (MUN), exhibitions, field visits, and other subject-related activities.
- Support students in developing research, presentation, and analytical skills.
Curriculum and Academic Compliance
- Ensure compliance with CBSE curriculum, assessment practices, and school policies.
- Prepare and maintain lesson plans, attendance records, assessment records, and student portfolios.
- Contribute to curriculum planning, resource development, and academic reviews.
Parent and Stakeholder Communication
- Communicate student progress and learning outcomes through Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) and other communication channels.
- Address academic concerns in collaboration with parents and school leadership.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
Technology Integration
- Integrate digital learning tools, smart classroom technology, and online resources into classroom instruction.
- Utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital assessment platforms where applicable.
Professional Development
- Participate in CBSE training programs, workshops, seminars, and school-led professional development initiatives.
- Stay updated with developments in pedagogy, curriculum, and assessment practices.
- Implement innovative teaching strategies and share best practices with colleagues.
School and Co-curricular Responsibilities
- Participate in school events, assemblies, examinations, admissions, and committee responsibilities.
- Organize and support subject enrichment activities and interdisciplinary projects.
- Undertake additional responsibilities assigned by the Principal or school management.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Economics, History, Geography, Political Science, or related Social Science discipline.
- B.Ed. from a recognized institution.
- CTET/TET qualification (preferred, where applicable).
Experience
- 2–5 years of teaching experience in a CBSE school (preferred).
- Experience in teaching Social Science and/or Economics at the middle or senior secondary level.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong understanding of the CBSE curriculum and assessment framework.
- Excellent subject knowledge in Social Science and Economics.
- Effective classroom management and student engagement skills.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in ICT tools, MS Office, Google Workspace, and digital teaching platforms.
- Ability to analyze student performance data and implement improvement plans.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
