About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior Garment Merchandiser to manage buyer accounts, sampling, production coordination, costing, and product development. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, costing, and manufacturing processes, along with excellent buyer communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle end-to-end merchandising activities from product development to shipment.
- Coordinate with buyers for inquiries, developments, approvals, and order execution.
- Prepare accurate garment costings and maintain target margins.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of fabrics, trims, washes, embellishments, and garment construction techniques.
- Manage daily sampling activities and ensure timely sample submissions.
- Coordinate with production, sourcing, quality, and planning teams for smooth order execution.
- Monitor production status and ensure timely deliveries as per buyer requirements.
- Follow up on approvals, lab dips, fit samples, PP samples, and bulk production.
- Maintain T&A calendars and ensure all milestones are achieved.
- Resolve production and quality-related issues proactively.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with buyers and vendors.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion, Apparel, Textile, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of experience in garment merchandising, preferably in export or domestic manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of woven and knit fabrics, garment construction, and manufacturing processes.
- Expertise in garment costing and consumption calculations.
- Excellent buyer handling and negotiation skills.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and merchandising documentation.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple styles/orders simultaneously.
