Role & responsibilities
The Process Engineer Water & Wastewater Treatment is responsible for the design, engineering, process calculations, and optimization of water and wastewater treatment systems. The role involves developing treatment solutions, preparing process documentation, evaluating new technologies, and supporting project execution from concept design through commissioning. The engineer will ensure that all systems comply with project specifications, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.
Technical Expertise & Process Knowledge
- Strong experience in the design, engineering, and process calculations of water and wastewater treatment systems.
- In-depth knowledge of latest water and wastewater treatment technologies, including Membrane Bioreactor (MBR), Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR), Ultrafiltration (UF), Reverse Osmosis (RO), Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR), and Activated Sludge Process (ASP).
- Experience in advanced membrane technologies, including ceramic membrane filtration systems.
- Sound understanding of physico-chemical treatment processes such as Electrocoagulation (EC), Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) units, and chemical dosing systems.
- Capability to perform process design calculations, hydraulic calculations, mass balance, and system sizing for water and wastewater treatment plants.
- Expertise in preparing Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), process design reports, and technical specifications.
- Ability to evaluate raw water and wastewater characteristics (TDS, COD, BOD, TSS, turbidity, pH, conductivity, etc.) and select appropriate treatment technologies.
- Experience in process optimization, troubleshooting, and performance improvement of treatment plants.
- Familiarity with latest industry practices, environmental regulations, and authority standards related to water and wastewater treatment.
- Good knowledge about latest engineering tools like BioWin, Bently , Wave, IMS etc.
Preferred candidate profile
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in the water and wastewater treatment industry, specifically in process design, engineering, and technology evaluation.
- Proven experience in handling Greenfield, Brownfield, and Greyfield projects, including new plant construction, plant expansion, and upgradation/retrofit works.
- Experience in designing and supporting treatment plants with capacity of up to 20 MLD (minimum).
- Hands-on experience in process engineering, plant performance evaluation, and optimization for municipal and industrial water/wastewater treatment facilities.
- Experience in integrating advanced treatment technologies such as MBR, MBBR, UF, RO, SBR, ASP, Ceramic Membranes, Electrocoagulation, and DAF systems in new and existing plants.
- Exposure to plant commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance improvement of treatment systems
- Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Environmental Engineering, or Process Engineering.
- Masters Degree is an added advantage

Pay: ₹80,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
