Industry Maritime Crew Manning / Ship ManagementVessel Types Supported Offshore Support Vessels (OSVs), Tugs, Crew Boats, Tankers and similarvessel categoriesExperience Required 7–8 years, with prior experience in the crew manning / shipmanagement or maritime sector (mandatory)Employment Type Full-TimeROLE OVERVIEWThe Assistant Manager – Finance will support the Finance function of the crew manning company, handlingday-to-day accounting, financial reporting, and MIS preparation related to seafarer wages, vessel operatingcosts, and principal billing for offshore vessels, tugs, crew boats, tankers and similar vessel types. The rolerequires strong hands-on proficiency in Excel and Tally, and the ability to turn around accurate MIS reportsquickly as requested by management.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting entries in Tally, including seafarer payroll, allotments,vendor payments, and crew-related expense accounting. Prepare and reconcile vessel-wise and principal-wise cost statements for offshore vessels, tugs, crewboats, tankers and other managed vessel categories. Prepare timely and accurate MIS reports (daily/weekly/monthly) as requested by management,including cash flow statements, expense trackers, crew cost analysis, and budget vs. actual reports. Process seafarer wages, allotments, leave pay, and reimbursements in coordination with thecrewing/operations department. Compute and verify monthly wage accounts/payroll for seafarers as per CBA (Collective BargainingAgreement)/CLA, individual contracts, and applicable wage scales (basic, overtime, leave pay,allowances). Process crew allotment and remittance to seafarers' family/bank accounts, and reconcile allotmentregisters against wage account deductions. Maintain seafarer-wise ledgers for advances, allotments, deductions (PF/welfare fund/loan recovery),and net wage payable, ensuring accuracy before disbursement. Prepare and verify portage bills, sign-on/sign-off settlements, repatriation costs, and final wagesettlements for joining and signing-off crew. Handle invoicing and billing to ship-owners/principals for crew wages, manning fees, and reimbursableexpenses. Prepare owner/principal remittance statements and reconcile funds received against vessel-wise crewcosts disbursed, flagging variances for resolution. Account for crew insurance premiums, P&I club contributions, medical/illness claims, and crew welfarefund expenses, and track recoveries from principals where applicable. Maintain and reconcile crew cost budgets against actuals per vessel, highlighting overruns in manningcosts, overtime, and victualling/crew expenses. Process agency fee, training cost, certification/STCW renewal, and visa/travel expense accounting forcrew joining and signing off vessels. Perform bank reconciliations, vendor reconciliations, and principal account reconciliations on a regularbasis. Assist in monthly closing of books of accounts, including provisions, accruals, and prepaid expenseadjustments. Support statutory compliance activities, including TDS, GST/VAT, PF, ESIC and other applicable filings(as relevant to jurisdiction). Coordinate with auditors (statutory, internal, and principal audits) and provide schedules,reconciliations, and supporting documentation. Build and maintain Excel-based financial models, dashboards, and trackers using formulas, pivot tables,and lookups for management reporting. Monitor outstanding receivables from principals and follow up for timely collections. Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial records, vouchers, and vessel-wise cost backups. Support the Finance Manager in budgeting, forecasting, and ad-hoc financial analysis as required.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (B.Com/M.Com); professional certification (CA Inter, CMA-Inter, MBA-Finance) is an added advantage. 7–8 years of overall finance/accounts experience, with prior experience specifically in a crew manning,ship management, or maritime/shipping company (mandatory). Working knowledge of offshore vessel, tug, crew boat, and tanker operations from a finance/costperspective preferred. Strong working knowledge of Tally (Tally ERP/Tally Prime) for day-to-day accounting and reporting. Advanced proficiency in MS Excel — pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, conditional formatting, anddashboard building. Proven ability to prepare MIS reports quickly and accurately under tight management timelines. Sound understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, and statutory compliance requirements.KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES Strong analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight reporting deadlines set by management. Good communication skills for coordination with crewing, operations, and principal/ship-owner teams. High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling financial and payroll data. Well organized, process-driven, and able to manage multiple vessel accounts simultaneously.
