Job Summary
This Role is pivotal in driving data quality management and governance across the bank, with a focus on enabling business outcomes.
The role will ensure that critical data problems impacting business processes, risk controls or transformation initiatives are identified, resolved and prevented. This role will bridge business and data functions, embedding data quality principles while enabling the business to make decisions and execute processes with trusted data.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy
Support the development and execution of the bank’s DQ and Gov strategy aligned to reg requirements and business objectives
Identify opportunities where improved DQ could reduce risk, increase efficiencies.
Business
Serve as the first point of escalation for critical data problems that are blocking business processes, client transactions, controls or change delivery
Partner with Business stakeholders, technology and control functions to provide strong and clear diagnosis, clear path way forward and agreed across the different businesses or functions on any critical data problems
Support the embedding of data governance practices into key business processes, ensuring compliance while enabling business agility
Processes
Scope is limited to CIB processes, but more primarily those for Banking, Coverage and Markets (including FSS)
Define and work with the respective processes to uplift / implement DQ controls, standards and remediation processes across critical datasets
Collaborate with data owners, stewards, and product owners
Monitor and report on DQ metrics and KPIs, to the businesses to ensure transparency of risks and business impact
Support adoption of tooling and platforms to automate monitoring, issue tracking and resolution processes.
Strong knowledge in SCB’s Operational Risk framework and DQMS framework is preferred
People & Talent
Effectively manages relevant business stakeholders across CIB
Risk Management
Work closely with the CIB Stakeholders, Group CDO teams and the broader Data Team to drive reduction of the Data risks and monitor all major risk issues and concentrations. Where appropriate, perform the upwards escalations of key risks, issues and/or challenges encountered.
Governance
Supports the setup and/or maintenance of the relevant governance forums/ WG

Qualifications
5 - 7 years of experience in financial services with at least 5 years in a relevant CIB Data function, could be an operations function or a data governance function
Strong understanding of CIB (excluding TB) products, data and systems
Proven track record in managing and resolving DQ issues
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, ability to bridge technical, business and control functions is key to this role’s success
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct root cause analysis and drive long term solutions
Familiarity with data governance frameworks, metadata mgmt. and data quality tooling
Ability to operate in a fast paced, change heavy environment with competing priorities
Strategic thinker with an execution focus; comfortable balancing governance with business enablement and understands what the business needs.
