Job Title
Executive - Executive - Compliances
We are a futuristic group aspiring to become a global giant. We are pioneers in providing solutions for footwear & accessories and eco-friendly homeware. And our portfolio of businesses is increasing rapidly as we are foraying into many new segments. At the core of our rapid growth is our core belief to take risks and accelerate ideas to solve some of the world’s biggest challenges. We don’t believe in predicting the future. We believe in creating it.
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Executive - Compliances - to oversee all compliance and taxation-related activities within our organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, comprehensive knowledge of tax laws, and the ability to manage and mentor a team. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to ensure tax compliance and optimize tax strategies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Statutory & Tax Compliances (Routine Cycle)
- GST – Preparation of GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9 / 9C; reconciliation of GSTR-2B vs. books;
e-invoicing and e-way bill support; staying updated with recent notifications and
circulars.
- TDS – Quarterly return preparation (24Q, 26Q, 27Q, 27EQ); challan generation; Form 16
/ 16A downloads; correction statements.
- Income Tax – Advance-tax working and payment, refund tracking, notice tracking, and
Form 15CA / 15CB coordination with the CA.
- PF, ESIC & Professional Tax – Monthly challan generation, wage upload, KYC updating,
and exit / joiner processing.
2. Reporting & Coordination
- Daily updating of compliance status; participation in daily / weekly reviews with the
Assistant Manager – Compliances.
- Coordination with external consultants for outsourced filings.
- Support during statutory audit, internal audit and tax assessments – documentation
retrieval, working-paper preparation, notice / query pull-outs and information collation.
Note: this is a support role in assessments, not a lead role; the Assistant Manager and the
CA will drive assessments.
Qualifications & Experience
Must-Have
- B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / CS Executive / MBA (Finance) or equivalent.
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience in a direct-tax / indirect-tax / statutory
compliance role – preferably in a mid-to-large corporate or a CA firm servicing corporates.
- Working knowledge of the GST portal, Income Tax portal, TRACES, EPFO Unified Portal,
ESIC portal, and TIN-NSDL.
- Comfort with Excel – VLOOKUP / XLOOKUP, pivot tables, IF and text functions, filters.
- Working knowledge of Tally (or SAP / any ERP) for accounts pulls and reconciliations.
- Written and spoken English strong enough to draft replies to statutory notices and
communicate with consultants.
- Technology-friendly – comfortable with online portals, cloud file systems, digital
signatures, and picking up new software quickly; someone who sees technology as a tool,
not a threat.
Good-to-Have
- Working use of AI tools (ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini or similar) to draft replies,
summarise notices, cross-check computations, tidy up data, and speed up routine work.
We actively encourage the use of AI to raise output and quality, provided the final work
is reviewed by a human.
- Prior experience of working in a CA firm.
Behavioral Attributes We Look For
The Compliances function cannot afford drift. The following attributes are non-negotiable:
- Diligent & systematic – Picks up items as they arise, closes what is committed, and does
not push work forward.
- Honest reporter – Reports work status accurately; does not inflate effort or hide
slippage.
- Realistic planner – Commits to timelines that reflect real completion, not the statutory
last date and not a comfortable month-end.
- Ownership mindset – Treats a compliance miss as a personal failure, not something to
blame on the portal, the CA, or the workflow.
- Coachable – Accepts review inputs from the Assistant Manager and management
without ego.
- Discreet – Handles statutory, financial and legal information with the confidentiality it
deserves.
